Summary of PRIMUS IV Features

  • 4kW x-ray tube fitted standard with 30mm Be tube window for the best in class light element performance.
  • Optics down design eliminating sample contamination and need for complex dust removal systems and protective films. Gives Improved reliability, reduced maintenance costs.
  • ZSX software designed for ease of use for all users while integrated with sophisticated expert capability.
  • Built in Standardless analysis ready with one click easy start. Further capability for more advanced users. Automatic matrix correction using Scattered radiation method.
  • Guided software setup. Simple flow guidance making the most complex analysis easy.
  • 10 position crystal mill. Allows all elements to be measured in scanning mode to create and enable backgrounds to be measured.
  • Optimised for best in class gas usage.
  1. Optional Sealed detector to eliminate P10 gas for sensitive installations
  2. Low He use when measuring liquids or powders. The first spectrometer to use separate vacuum only path separating sample from main optics when measuring liquids and powders.
  • 6 Position Primary Beam Filter for optimum combination of measurement parameters. Resulting in improved detection limits.
  • High count-rate detectors as standard. Gas Proportional and Scintillation. Automatic cleaning for flow detectors reducing regular maintenance visits and down time.
  • Automatic Vacuum level setting. Unique feature to maintain constant vacuum when measuring light to very light elements. Enhances precision.
  • Curved Crystals For best sensitivity and maximum count-rate. Enhances precision and/or detection limits
  • Dual Vacuum Pumps. Constant vacuum maintained to enhance light element precision.
  • Closed circuit cooling heat exchanger. Separation of instrument cooling system from external chiller/cooling systems. Ensures correct water condition for tube cooling and reduces potential tube damage due to poor external chiller maintenance or failures. Enhances tube life.
  • Small area measurement and Small Spot Mapping. Use of collimators to provide small area measurements capability (0.5mm) and a small spot mapping capability. WD XRF mapping for all elements configured. Maximum benefit for users looking at small samples and needing scan/mapping capability in one XRF system.
